IoT SMART STADIUMS

SMART STADIUM TECHNOLOGIES FOR A BETTER SPORTS EXPERIENCE

A smart stadium integrates a large number of sensors, cameras, and digital signs that connect to wired and wireless networks, and servers. Sensors provide up-to-date information on empty parking spots, waiting for lines, the number of hot dogs available at concession stands, and other stadium data. Cameras are used to monitor all corners of the venue and keep people safe. We’re committed to helping venues provide stronger levels of fan engagement and excitement via cutting-edge smart stadium designs, installation, and management.

Solution Architecture

Smart stadiums require a sophisticated mix of hardware,  software, and wireless connectivity to establish communication links between stadium operators, fans, and social networks. In short, they quickly collect and analyze data using cloud infrastructure, allowing stadium operators to make data-driven decisions that impact many aspects of the business. The building blocks shown in Figure include:

  • Sensors: Parking, sound, temperature, and other sensors detect and measure what’s happening in and around stadiums.
  • Cameras: Infrared and video cameras are used to monitor crowd behavior, detect movement in parking garages, capture plays, secure entry into restricted areas or premium seating zones, and more, making operations more efficient.
  • IoT Gateways: Gateways connect sensors, cameras, and other devices in the stadium to one another and the cloud.

STRUCTURAL SENSORS

This developed monitoring system is utilized to monitor the stress of the truss, and the dynamic response of the structure using the Structural Health Monitoring System. Large amounts of data are obtained through the health monitoring system, and thus the safe condition of the structure can be evaluated based on data analysis.

CAMERA ANALYTICS

Smart security cameras in the IoT equipped with AI can help improve both security and operations in sports venues and stadiums. Cameras to make parking more comfortable, reduce waiting times and prevent hooliganism.

AI camera capabilities include Social Distance Monitoring, Crowd Scanning/Metrics, Facial Recognition, Fever Detection, Track & Trace, and Providing Behavioural Analytics.

WEATHER STATION & AIR QUALITY MONITORING

The Weather Station measures temperature, wind speed, wind direction, brightness, air humidity, and air pressure. It recognizes precipitation and receives the GPS signal for time and location. In addition, using location coordinates and time, it calculates the exact position of the sun (azimuth and elevation).

DIGITAL SIGNAGE

Digital signage is an essential element in enhancing that experience by providing an engaging communication platform. Our solutions can be adapted for many uses.

  • Self-Service Kiosks & Greeting Centers,
  • Easier Navigation & Wayfinding Signage
  • Eye-Grabbing Digital Menu Boards
  • Multilingual Communication, Handicap & Disability Digital Signage
  • Queue Display Screens for wait-lines
  • Monetized Digital Signage for Turnkey Advertising

WIFI FOR WORLD-CLASS STADIUMS

Stadium WiFi connectivity is a unique and challenging aspect of modern venues, which increasingly rely on sophisticated networks to support the tens of thousands of connected devices that descend upon the stadium come game day.

ACCESS CONTROL

Ensure effective line flow control and restrict access to secure areas with smart membership cards and ticketing machines. Access control devices also include personal and vehicle matriculation license plate scanners. multimedia kiosks allow to control and manage accesses, from people in and out, viewing schedules, general information, card reader, attendance management, ticket validators, and much more.

PARKING SOLUTIONS

Finding parking at a stadium is often difficult. However, new LPWA technologies reduce the cost of IoT devices, enabling the deployment of smart parking solutions that were not previously economically feasible. These IoT parking solutions could use connected devices placed in each parking space to allow you to reserve a specific parking space before the game, update a sign located at the parking spot to designate it as reserved, alert stadium security if someone else parks there, direct your connected car to the space, and even guide your guests to your tailgate party, making it easier for you to get those brats quickly on the grill and into the bellies of your fellow fans.
